Teacher Certification Projects

As this page is a part of a requirement for the Moreland University Teacher Certification program, most of the work featured here is work I have done in the course of that program. I decided to also include work I have done at Beijing Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy as the Secondary Librarian in support of the English Department. The materials are linked in the title, unless otherwise noted. Please see the subpage for videos I created during this program as well.

Recycling in the Classroom

This document details my thoughts on creating, implementing, and sustaining classroom norms, procedures, transitions, and expectations. These four elements are at the core of developing and maintaining great and reasonable classroom management. I firmly believe that you cannot teach if you cannot manage the classroom. Classroom management is the bedrock to teaching.

College Library

This presentation was created as a fun way to introduce students to information literacy. This is the first step in preparing the students to become information literate.

Teamwork

Collaboration is a key component to my current job as a Secondary Librarian, but really to being any type of teacher. As a teacher, I collaborate with my students and I collaborate with my colleagues. This assignment details the collaborative work that went into my leadership project, Shakespeare Week.

Color Pencils

Every teacher needs to employ differentiation strategies to meet the needs of all learners within their classroom. This infographic details some ways to use differentiation with the classroom as a whole, as well as for specific groups of students.
